Gilmorton Road, Lutterworth

The Enterprise Centre provides a self-contained, well equipped facility providing the opportunity to develop a wide variety of practical skills and qualifications in a supportive and positive “family style” atmosphere for students in key stage 2-4.

Specialist teaching enables a different working environment to be created where students can build self-esteem through success in practical areas including woodwork, pc maintenance, arts and crafts, horticulture, hand care, cooking and wallpapering.

After 12 years as part of Lutterworth College the Centre is now an independent charity.

Students who are under-achieving in the mainstream academic environment and who have a preference for practically assessed courses will benefit from time spent at the Centre as part of their timetable.

Students are able to work in smaller groups which support the calm, encouraging and positive nature of the learning at the Centre. The safety and trust the students experience enables support to be offered in wider issues which may not necessarily be directly related to education.

The focus for KS2 / KS3 students is on indentifying existing barriers to learning, developing skills and strategies to improve in these areas whilst simultaneously boosting confidence and self-esteem.

The focus for KS4 students is on harder outcomes (Nationally recognised qualifications) that will enable achievment that facilitates transition to further education, training and employment whilst continuing to impart skills and attributes that develop the whole individual.

The work of the school’s off-site Enterprise Centre is outstanding and students who attend benefit greatly from the high quality provision there and many make rapid progress as a result.

Thanks for helping us to greatly improve the experience and learning of our young people. Your thoughtfulness and perseverance are really appreciated.
